Hello Nicole and Guests!
It's Sue Lynch from Crossroads. I've enjoyed what I've seen and read so far, so, I thought I'd step up and introduce myself. I'll give a few facts about myself, too. Nicole, I always enjoy seeing your bright and smiling face at church, and I always enjoy hearing you sing. Coming to church to worship through song is always a special time for me.
So, I guess I'll take a little time now and say a few things about myself. I grew up here in Washington, and I'm the youngest child of four children. There were three of us girls, along with my brother. Sadly, my second sister and I are the only people in our family still living. That whole transition hit us hard in January, which is when our dad passed away at the age of 91. So, I graduated high school in 1980. A month after graduating I met my husband, Mike, and we were married in 1982. Yes, that's right, we are celebrating our 42nd anniversary this October. After spending 4 and a half years with Mike in the Army, we came back home to Washington in 1987. We have two sons, Steven (39) and Paul (37). We've lived in Yelm for almost 20 years, and we have been going to Crossroads for almost the same amount of time.
While our boys were in school, I periodically worked as a teacher assistant. Once we moved to Yelm, I worked in childcare, and I also did some volunteer work in our church office at the downtown location. Although it's been quite a while, I've also enjoyed being a volunteer in church ministries.
Now, I enjoy reading a whole lot, averaging about 35 books a year. We have three cats that I love spending time with. I enjoy feeding the squirrels that live in and around our yard. I would like to get back into ministry work at some point in the near future, but I'm still trying to figure out how to put that in motion.
Well, I think that about covers everything for now. Thanks for reading!
